BYU graduate spreading fresh designs and kindness

From jars of granola to one of the biggest florists in New York City, Amber Asay’s fresh and classy designs have made products beautiful and compelling. Her passions for life, family, travel, and food give her perspective and insight.

Native to southern California, Asay is a graduate of BYU’s design program and is excellent at seamlessly integrating her designs and personal interests. Upon graduation, rather than creating a template resume online, she designed and printed an artful newspaper, introducing herself and interests as well as showcasing her design skills. “This self-promo was designed to send out to prospective employers and clients,” says Asay on her website portfolio. Rather than classifieds or funnies, her paper featured infographics about her love for food, running, and slight addiction to social media.

Her designs, though always trendy, have incredible variety, going from playful to professional to minimalist. Her portfolio is wide, including magazines, juice bottles, and restaurant branding. Her activities range from teaching Adobe classes to traveling to keeping up a styled instagram.

Aside from branding her life as awesome, Asay has put her 2 cents in to make the world more awesome. She, along with other designers, founded Nice People, “a team of creatives passionate about designing beautiful and visually compelling brands with a story.”

Like other creative groups, Nice People strives to provide high quality services, but they aren’t only in it for the work. Their philosophy is “work hard and be nice to people” and love working with driven brands in all fields.

Embodying the mantra to “enter to learn, go forth to serve,” Asay has used the skills the developed as a student to contribute more beauty to the world. You can see her work on her website at amberasay.com. Her Instagram is @amberasay.
